 A sacred gardener is giving love to a rose with his poop and pee…Unpleasant at first but with a great later benefit, since these organic components can make the fields fertile or can heal some superficial wounds. As happens in some religious medieval artwork, the figure is under an arch, so the upper part had a rounded design since the beginnig. Probably I had in my subconscious “Amanece que no es poco” a magical realism and surrealistic spanish film by José Luis Cuerda, in which people are born from the soil as vegetables do. This piece was printed human size (190 cm heigth) for my artwork exhibitions. A digital illustration collage that has a very rich texturing, using photographic images and applying with the ballpoint pen and with colored pencils a fantastic textured shading in white areas and also all over the clothing. Magic happens everywhere… so trilobytes and dancing worms can be seen among the ground’s strata, symmetrical splashes wet a striped colored lawn and some impossible leaves with wavy & dotted midribs, move with a wind that can dissolve colors in squares! This surrealistic superman, as Saint George would do, is ready to punish the devil that hides in the shadow beneath his feet. Celestial light coming from above between the clouds encorauges him to stand strong.
